One of characteristics of men of God I have admired over the years is their connection to Scripture memory. I am watching my own heart beginning to refocus and some key guys making some progress in their walk by taking on this discipline of the faith.
After about a year of working on re-memorizing the Topical Memory System I am starting on the follow up: Topical Memory System- Life Issues.. 72 verses in 12 different topics and 6 verses on each.. thought I would share the first group of verses with you. The topic is knowing God’s will. I don’t know about you but I need some helping discerning God’s will from time to time. Have a great day!
Knowing God’s Will
Proverbs 3:5-7- Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil
Jeremiah 29:11-13 – For I know the plans that I have for you,‘ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. ‘And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart
Romans 12:2- And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Isaiah 30:21- And your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
1 John 5:14-15- And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
Remembering scriptures is not a sign of being Godly man, it is only a sign of good memory. Even Satan remembers the bible, along with many sinners. Being Godly is not being able to repeat scriptures, your actions in daily life is the true sign of being a Godly man.
