How Long Will I Live?

I consider myself to pretty orthodox as it relates to things of faith. I would land on the more conservative side of most theological issues, yet it seems that I also have a philosophical side that leans toward unorthodox thoughts. Some call that a messed up mind. As I turn 50 (yesterday) I have been thinking about getting old. It occurs to me that according to orthodox Christian thought, we live forever in an eternal state of bliss called Heaven so why are so uptight about age (beside the obvious parenthesis of physical death). If the songster are right about being there for 10,000 years and just beginning our adventure then shouldn’t I expect a 10,000 year birthday party? Suddenly, 50 seems like a drop in bucket.
