I am reading a book by Randy Alcorn entitle Heaven and I am anticipating it being a game changer related to perspective. I want to share some of my notes and quotes from the book as I go. Even in the first couple of chapters I am realizing that I don’t have a clear Biblical picture of heaven in my mind. Love this quote from the book.
“The man who is about to sail for Australia or New Zealand as a settler, is naturally anxious to know something about his future home, its climate, its employments, its inhabitants, its ways, its customs. All these are subjects of deep interest to him. You are leaving the land of your nativity, you are going to spend the rest of your life in a new hemisphere. It would be strange indeed if you did not desire information about your new abode. Now surely, if we hope to dwell for ever in that “better country, even a heavenly one,” we ought to seek all the knowledge we can get about it. Before we go to our eternal home we should try to become acquainted with it.” J.C. Ryle
I use to spend a lot of time thinking of what heaven was going to be. One
day I read in the Bible; Give it the best thought or guess and God said that
Heaven is going to be beyond all we can ask or think on this earthly plain.
And that is Great, cause the main thing is Jesus is going to be center of it all. I love it when God stays one step ahead, and gives me my best surprise
ever, and continues for eturnity; better and better AND BEST FOR THE REST OF MY ETURNAL LIFE. ALL I CAN SAY IS: BRING IT ON TO THE
GLORY OF MY HEAVENLY FATHER!!!!!
IN HIS GRIP
