They say that a mother can pick out the specific cry of their young in the midst of a crowd of children. They have so attuned their ears to the specific tone and style of their children’s voice that the listening mom can even discern whether it is the daily whine or something more substantial. Knowing someones voice comes from countless hours of care which our committed mothers put in (thanks God for moms).
As I continue this little Pre-Easter series through John 20 and 21 we find Mary weeping at the tomb and she is very concerned about who took Jesus’ body to the point that she interacts with angels and is unaware. She even supposes Jesus to be a gardener until He speaks her name. But as soon as He said her name she knows it is Him. Somehow He has been raised from the dead. She doesn’t know how and really doesn’t care. All she knows is that He has called her name and things are right again. Makes me wonder if I spend enough time with the Master to know His voice. What about you?
